Admissions

Undergraduate Programs

1. Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Black Studies
2. Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in History
3. Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Sociology

Department of History & Sociology also offers minors in the following areas:

1. Criminal Justice
2. Gerontology
3. History
4. Political Science
5. Sociology

Admissions Requirements

A Major within the Department must successfully complete all General Education requirements and meet all Departmental requirements for his/her major. All students must have a minimum 2.0 in their General Education courses and a 2.0 in all major courses. In addition, all majors must pass a Senior Exit Exam in their field. Passing grades are established by the Departmental Chair and faculty. Students may elect to have a minor. In lieu of a minor, students must have 18 hours of courses above the 200 level with a minimum GPA of 2.0. Depending upon the major within the Department, students must have a minimum of 127 credit hours. Students within the Department must earn a minimum grade of C in all major courses, minor courses or courses in lieu of the minor
