Selection
as the School of the Month provides a tremendous, long-reaching opportunity
for Claflin University to attract national attention. We need your
help to make this campaign for Claflin a major success. Our goal is
to raise $500,000 in donations. If we are able to accomplish this,
our students will benefit by increased availability of scholarship
funds, our alumni will benefit from Claflin’s greater notoriety
and visibility, and our educational programs and facilities will be
enhanced, as well.
On
Friday, January 20, 2006 at 6:00 a.m., the Tom Joyner Foundation will
host a Sky Show at the Oncenter Complex (800 State Street) in Syracuse,
NY with funds to benefit Claflin. This Sky Show will be heard by 7
million listeners in the 115 radio markets across the country. Corporate
sponsors, alumni, and friends will also present checks and make pledges
for Claflin University. You will receive additional information very
soon regarding the Sky Show and other campaign activities that we
have planned for 2006.
This
letter is to personally ask you to support our Alma Mater, by sharing
this information so that your alumni group might make a donation to
the Tom Joyner Foundation for Claflin University. Your contribution
may be matched in part by corporate sponsors of the Tom Joyner Foundation.
In addition, it is likely that your friends and relatives who make
contributions to this campaign may have their gift matched by their
employer. All donations are tax-deductible and will directly benefit
students and activities of Claflin University.
