Talent Search programs Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility Requirements The eligibility requirements for the Educational Talent Search Program are set by the U.S. Congress, and by law. The Educational Talent Search Program must meet the following criteria for selecting participants:

-2/3 of the participants must come from low-income families, with the potential to be the first in their families to be a college graduate.
-1/3 of the participants do not need to meet either income or first generation criteria.

All participants must demonstrate the “ability to benefit” from a college education. At Claflin University, this means a person must have at least a 2.0 grade point average in order to be selected as an Educational Talent Search participant.
