WELCOME TO STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION All students of Claflin University are encouraged to be active members of the Student Government Association. The office of the Student Government Association is located in Room 112 Campus Center. The role of this organization is to represent the students in matters relating to the general welfare of the student body in accordance with the powers invested in it by The College Administration and/or Board of Trustees. The Student Government Association is the official representative of the students and offers opportunities to share concerns, express opinions, jointly participate in the resolution of problems and make recommendations to the proper officials of the College. The Association and its representatives on committees provide students a role in institutional decision making. In order to insure that there will be consistent contributions from students in the policy making of the College, a number of committees have been established, with proportional representation from this group on each committee. These committees make recommendations to the faculty or to the Executive Committee of the College: Academic Affairs Committee, Admissions Committee, Athletic Committee, Discipline Committee, Financial Committee, and Library Committee. |
