1.Cisco Clean Access Agent Installation
"Failed to Add..." Message
If you try to run Clean Access Agent from the icon before the installation is complete, you will receive the error message "Failed to add Clean Access Agent icon to taskbar status area." Make sure that all installation dialog boxes are closed, and if you still receive the error, try restarting your computer. If restarting does not help, try uninstalling and reinstalling the client.
"Major Upgrade Mandatory..." Message
If your version of Clean Access Agent is not the newest, you will be required to download the update. This message is common, and if you click "OK", the download should begin automatically. It is not necessary to uninstall the old version of the client.
2. Cisco Clean Access Agent Login
Missing Windows Updates
If your computer does not have the proper updates to Microsoft Windows, Cisco Clean Access will require you to install any critical updates.
Missing Antivirus Definitions
If your computer does not have the proper updates to Symantec Antivirus, Cisco Clean Access will require you to install updated virus definitions.
Missing an Antivirus Program
If your computer does not have a supported antivirus program, you will need to install one before you will be able to access the network. Once you have installed and updated an antivirus client, try logging in again.
Network Terms Rejected
If you do not choose to accept the Network Use Agreement, you will not be allowed to use the Claflin University Internet connection. Please click close, log back in and select "Accept" to continue.
Network Error

Occasionally, you might receive an error that states, "The attempt to connect to the server failed". This can often happen if Symantec Antivirus has not finished updating before you have clicked Next. The server will think you are logged in, but your client program will think you are not. To fix this error, first try uninstalling and reinstalling the Cisco Clean Access Agent (you can find the uninstall option in the "Add/Remove Programs" tool in the Control Panel).
3. Firewalls
McAfee Personal Firewall
|
If you are using McAfee Personal Firewall, you might see a warning that the Cisco Clean Access program is trying to access the internet. Make sure to select "Grant Access". Blocking internet access to the CCA tool will stop your internet connection from functioning. |
Norton Internet Security
By default, Norton Internet Security blocks Cisco Clean Access. If you see this message, be sure to select Always Allow.
