Research Interests
Dr. Jasina’s research interests include applied microeconomics, industrial organization, economic development and sports economics. He recently published a paper in the International Journal of Sport Finance on the impact of professional sports teams on county employment. He is currently working on several research papers (1) the enrollment impact of the SC Education Lottery, (2) the regressive nature of the Powerball Lottery, (3) personal financial literacy among college students, and (4) a paper that develops economic models to compare the behavior of North American sport leagues (closed leagues) to sports leagues in the rest of the world (open leagues).
