Dr. Richard House is the Director of University Bands and Associate Professor of Music. Besides directing the Wind Ensemble, his teaching includes music education classes and applied lessons in trumpet. He also is the faculty advisor of the Pep Band. Dr. House has held prior band directing/teaching positions at Augusta (GA) State University, Bridgewater (VA) College, Ligon (Raleigh, NC) Middle School, Enloe (Raleigh, NC) High School, and Chesterfield (SC) High and Middle Schools.
Dr. House continues to be an active professional trumpeter; recent performances include the Augusta (GA) Symphony and Charleston (SC) Symphony. His degrees include a Doctor of Musical Arts (1998) and Masters in Trumpet Performance (1995) both from Arizona State University, and a Bachelor in Music Education (1986) from East Carolina University.
