The Department of Art offers majors in Studio Art and Art Education and a minor in Studio Art. Students who want to major in Studio Art or Art Education must complete a separate departmental application, usually during the second semester of the freshman year.

Art majors study design concepts, art history, drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture and photography, as well as courses in digital design area. Studio Art majors are required to complete a senior project and mount an exhibit of their work during the senior year. Art Education majors take many of the same foundation courses, but devote more time to education classes and, during the senior year, student teaching (in lieu of the exhibit)
