Welcome to the Department of History and Sociology. Our faculty and students ask questions about people. Whether we are inquiring into the effects of poverty on a particular community, conducting a forensic investigation on crime scene evidence, or engaged in a comparative study of slavery in the Atlantic World, we focus our attention on investigating and analyzing the human condition. We offer a range of social science courses that are taught in a traditional liberal arts environment. Students can major in History, Sociology, and African and African American Studies as well as take classes in Political Science, Psychology, Gerontology, and Criminal Justice.
