The Claflin University Department of Music is committed to preparing our students to excel in a variety of professional careers. As one of the centers of excellence at the University, the Department of Music aims to provide a flexible career- oriented education with an extensive choice of options within the broad field of music. The combination of spacious facilities, a balanced curriculum, and a distinguished faculty are but a few of the many advantages of musical training at Claflin. Throughout each year, the Department presents a variety of concerts and music productions both on campus and as a part of national and international tours.

At Claflin University, membership in all ensembles is open to students of all majors. Since all ensembles are offered for academic credit, students area able to continue developing their musical skills as well as complete their academic requirements through participation in our many ensembles.
