Admissions

Undegraduate Programs

1. Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English.
2. Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English Education
(grades 9-12).
3. Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in American Studies.

The Department of English and Foreign Languages also offers minors in the following areas:

1. American Studies
2. English
3. French
4. Theatre Arts

Admission Requirements

In order to be accepted as majors in the Department of English, students
must successfully complete and maintain the following requirements:

1. A student must successfully complete the freshman English composition
courses, ENG 101 and ENG 102.

2. Once accepted into the program, a student must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above in his/her English courses. If a student falls below this level, he/she will have one semester, plus a summer, to raise his/her English GPA to the required 2.5. A student has the
right to appeal this standard by formal written request to the English Department Head, who will form an appropriate English faculty committee to review the case.
