Welcome to the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. We appreciate your interest in our school and look forward to the opportunity to serve you. We are rated among the top undergraduate schools in the Southeast. Our undergraduate students have numerous opportunities to engage in scholarly research. The School comprises three Departments; Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics and Computer Science offering 12 undergraduate academic majors and a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology. Historically, African Americans have been underrepresented in the ranks of the nation's scientists. At Claflin we are doing everything in our power to reverse that trend. Over the course of the past decade, Claflin has devoted a significant portion of its financial and human resources to the improvement of science teaching and scientific facilities at the University.
We endeavor to prepare students to be highly competitive in meeting the requirements for medical, dental, pharmacy, other health professions schools, graduate school, or the world of work. To find out more about our school, please visit each of our departments.
