| DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES |
Claflin University invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean, School of Education. The Dean reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and is the chief academic and administrative officer for the School of Education (SOE). The Dean will be a dynamic and visionary leader dedicated to preparing students for leadership and service roles in a multicultural, global, and technological society. The Dean will guide the School through energetic program and research development to provide high quality programs for educational professionals, fostering collaboration with other departments and schools within the University, and cultivating relationships in the wider educational community

| QUALIFICATIONS |
The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate from an accredited institution with a successful record of accomplishment in teaching, research and service. A demonstrated commitment to excellence in standards-based education in k-12 and higher education; successful administrative leadership experience, including program planning, budget management, and experience in distance education; experience with state-level licensure bodies and regional and NCATE accreditation.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience.
