DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES The Director of Jazz Studies will report to the Interim Chair of Music and will conduct the University Jazz Ensemble and coordinate jazz combos. Additional teaching responsibilities may include, but are not limited to applied music and or courses such as jazz improvisation. The Director or Jazz Studies is expected to fully participate in departmental recruitment activities and performance obligations consistent with all ensemble conducting appointments.

| QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in music required. Preference will be given to candidates with university-level teaching and administrative experience as well as significant and on-going creative activity in the jazz area.
