DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES : The Administrative Assistant for the School of Education (SOE) reports to the Dean and is responsible for providing administrative support to faculty in the SOE and coordinating the administrative activities. Responsible for establishing, coordinating and monitoring the day-to-day operating procedures of the School; assisting in preparing and monitoring the budget; handling all incoming telephone inquiries; and maintaining appointment calendar. Maintain performance information on candidates in the teacher education program, personnel records and processes leave. Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, compose letters and memorandums, and record and transcribe meeting minutes; schedule meetings and other activities in support of the School of Education; supervise student workers, maintain supply inventory, records and filing system; and prepare e-requisitions for organizational requests and tracks the approval process.

| QUALIFICATIONS
An associate degree in Administrative Office Technology, Business or a related discipline is required. Candidate must be knowledgeable of office practices and procedures, proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have a working knowledge of other automated systems. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and the general public in disseminating and obtaining information; completing assigned tasks; developing and managing a recordkeeping system; and communicating effectively both orally and in writing. Previous senior level experience working as an administrative assistant or an office manager preferred.
