DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES |
Report to the Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement. The Director of Prospect Research is responsible for coordinating efforts to identify and meet Advancement’s prospect research data needs; providing overall directions for prospect research to assist the University in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major donor prospects; coordinating and managing the support system for major gift fundraising operation; and serving as head of the Prospect Management Committee (PMC). Organize and conduct research on individuals, corporations, and foundations identified as potential donors at $50,000 or more through the prospect clearance and coordinating process. Develop and maintain a tracking system, generate required reports, and develop and initiate the Division’s prospect management and research processes. Demonstrate an understanding of departmental goals and objectives, taking responsibility to ensure these goals and objectives are met as supported through and by the Blackbaud database and other research tools and systems. Perform other duties assigned by the Associate vice President, Vice President for Institutional Advancement and/or President. |
| QUALIFICATIONS |
A master’s degree is strongly preferred with three to five years of experience in institutional or related research. Must be proficient in computer use and possess knowledge and use of specialized software (Backbaud database system- Raiser’s Edge). The successful candidate must possess leadership skills and have demonstrated ability to manage and provide overall direction for all major gift solicitations |
