DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES The Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the program. Responsibilities include the implementation of all grant activities, supervising project staff, managing the budget including authorizing the expenditure of funds, completing reports on project activities and working with the advisory board on the coordination of activities with community resources. The Director will develop and implement strategies to recruit students from target populations, communicate regularly with target school personnel and community agencies/organizations. He/she will establish and maintain relationships to promote increased secondary promotion, secondary school graduation, and post secondary admissions as well as design and implement a comprehensive evaluation program to assess the impact of project services on participants.

| QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate must possess a Master’s degree in an appropriate field (education, public administration, counseling, etc.), and a minimum of five years administrative experience including budget management, knowledge of college admissions and financial aid procedures, adult education concerns, and experience with public information techniques. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing, communications and computer skills are a plus. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate and interact effectively with the community, the school administration and staff, and with the faculty and staff of the university.

The purpose of the Talent Search (TS) Program is to identify qualified youths with potential for education at the postsecondary level and encourage them to complete secondary school and undertake a program of postsecondary education. TS projects also publicize the availability of student financial assistance for persons who seek to pursue postsecondary education and encourage persons who have not completed programs at the secondary or postsecondary level to reenter these programs.
