CLAFLIN UNIVERSITY, founded in 1869 and affiliated with The United Methodist Church, is recognized as one of the premier comprehensive institutions in the southeast. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES |
Report to the Director of Annual Fund/Alumni Relations. The Manager of Alumni Relations is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of an aggressive alumni relations program which includes evaluation of programs, activities, events and communication serving alumni, parents and friends of the University. Establish a program designed to increase gifts and to secure repeat gifts; help manage the matching gifts program; and develop and implement an engagement plan with alumni organizations in all regions. Track, analyze and report on effectiveness of alumni programs; support chapter management in event planning, marketing, facilitation and evaluation; and provide assistance with all annual, major events sponsored by the Office (e.g. Homecoming/Founders’ Day Weekend, commencement, Alumni Phone-a-thon, etc). Partner with Special Events, Campus Recruiting and other teams to develop and execute new initiatives. Perform other duties assigned by the Director, Associate Vice President, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, and/or President. |
| QUALIFICATIONS |
Master’s degree in a related discipline is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required with three to five years of experience in alumni relations, marketing, and strategic management or equivalent experience. Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have demonstrated ability to work well with colleagues in a team effort. Applicant must have demonstrated success in alumni relations. Candidate must be knowledgeable of the cultivation and solicitation of gifts and the strategies needed to implement them successfully. |
