DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The Program Support Technician will provide support within the Annual Fund Unit under the supervision of the Associate Vice President and other professional staff. He/she will work as part of a team with the annual fund staff to support, encourage, and facilitate the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individual donors and potential donors, in order to maximize the financial support for University priorities. He/she will manage donor records and scholarship files; produce various annual funds, alumni giving, and prospect research reports as well as track inventory and assist in maintaining various administrative reports for the unit. The candidate must draft and prepare correspondence, edit downloads from the database; maintain computerized records; track budgets for specific activities; coordinate meetings/appointments; order items through the on-line e-requisition (purchasing) system; file, photocopy and handle mail. Assist with budget matters as required and assist the Unit with events. Greet visitors to the office, direct telephone calls and respond to inquiries by telephone and in person; process travel/expenses reports and assist with travel arrangements; attend Unit meetings and take minutes. Perform other duties assigned by the Associate Vice President, Vice President for Institutional Advancement and/or President.

QUALIFICATIONS

An associate degree in secretarial science or a related discipline is required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management or a related discipline is strongly preferred.  Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills; be proficient in database applications, Internet, and automated systems; and have demonstrated ability to plan and organize activities.  Applicant must have considerable knowledge of office practices and procedures; executive’s responsibilities; and agency programs, policies and procedures.  Previous senior level administrative or office management experience in a customer service environment is preferred.
