DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES |
The Reference Librarian organizes and directs the work of the Reference and Serials Department; conducts bibliographic instruction; provides reference service to library patrons; supervises the selection and maintenance of on-line databases; participates in collection development for Reference Department in particular and regular collection in general; provides interlibrary loan service; prepares library resource guides and other handouts; works with IT to update the library webpage; conducts library surveys; provides virtual library assistance; supervises student assistants; participates in campus activities, faculty meetings, committee meetings, etc. The Reference Librarian works at least one evening per week. The Reference Librarian reports to the Library Director.

| QUALIFICATIONS |
ALA-accredited master’s of Library Science is required. The successful candidate must possess Reference Librarian experience in an academic setting (preferred); and experience with online library systems, online databases and internet. The successful candidate must have exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
