Claflin University to Host an Evening of Song to Celebrate Life of MLK Jan. 15

Claflin University will host an evening of song celebrating the life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Sunday, Jan 15. at 6 p.m.

The event will feature a celebration mass choir under the direction of Minister Rosemary Smith Griffin, Elder William E. Smith and Brother Keith Fogle. Choirs from more than 10 local churches will be represented.

Admission is free and open to the public.

“We invite the community to come celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King through song,” said Griffin.

The evening of song will be held in the James and Dorothy Z. Elmore Chapel on campus. A free shuttle service will be provided to Claflin from New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 1785 Amelia St. in Orangeburg.
