News about the freezing temperatures in Orangeburg on Tuesday and Wednesday has students buzzing with excitement and chatter.

Meteorologists said Monday that snow is on its way. Maintenance men have already put salt on the asphalt all over campus.

Although Monday reached a high of 68 degrees, Tuesday and Wednesday's temperatures will be in the 30s with snow and sleet. Talk about global warming!

Students were all eyes and ears anxiously waiting to receive notification about the cancellation of classes - notice that came late Monday that Tuesday would be a day away from classes. I'm sure a day inside to snooze and catch up on assignments won't hurt anyone.

... Happy winter!
