Dr. Omar Bagasra, director of the South Carolina Center for Biotechnology, has been selected to participate on a special National Institutes of Health panel that will review grant applications aimed at eliminating health disparities.

Claflin University President Dr. Henry N. Tisdale has announced that Dr. Karl S. Wright has been named provost, a move aligned with the University’s strategic direction to achieve greatness.

Tausif Akhtar and Sumit Sinha are spending the summer studying marketing at Claflin University. That’s not unusual. But they did have to travel more 8,000 to take the courses.

One would think that a championship winning coach at the high school and college levels who became an equally successful college athletics director and vice president, in addition to serving as a conference commissioner, would have retired at age 67.
