The annual Claflin University International Alumni Association Convention received an energizing start after First Citizens Bank announced their contribution of $200,000 to the University’s $96.4 million capital campaign.

Claflin University alumni internationally will assemble in Columbia April 4-7 for the 39th Annual Claflin University International Alumni Association (CUIAA) Convention. Kevin Marsh, chairman and CEO of SCANA Corporation, will deliver the opening keynote address at the annual Corporate, Community and Friends Breakfast on Friday, April 5 at 8 a.m.

Claflin University President Dr. Henry N. Tisdale and First Lady Alice Carson Tisdale today announced their gift of $250,000 to the University. The couple presented a check during an event held on the Claflin campus. The gift will fund an endowed professorship in the sciences and provide support for other academic programs and scholarships, including athletics.

Is South Carolina’s economy on the upswing? How many new jobs are coming to the state going forward? These questions will be among many addressed during Claflin University’s 15th Annual Business Community Alliance Luncheon on Wednesday, April 3.

Claflin University will host its 3rd annual Women’s Conference March 21- 22 as the signature event of the campus’ celebration of National Women’s History Month.
