Mission statement
The Claflin University Department of Public Safety strives to provide a reasonably secure and safe environment for all who work, study and visit the university. It is important to realize that the Department of Public Safety is dependent on the cooperation and active participation of all members of its family and the community in reducing crime and creating a safe environment. It is our quest to protect students, faculty, staff and university property from harm and intrusion. The Department will provide educational and learning programs to enhance its preventive and proactive capabilities. We strive to be better than we were yesterday, ensuring a great Public Safety Department for tomorrow.
