2007 Democratic Debate

Traffic Control Plan for April 26, 2007

 

 

On April 26, 2007 the Democratic Presidential Debate will be held on the South Carolina State University campus. This event will bring an influx of media and visitors to the Orangeburg area.

 

For safety reasons traffic will be diverted from traveling south on Magnolia Street from the following intersections beginning at 1 p.m. until possibly until 11:p.m.:

 

1. Magnolia @ Chestnut St

2. Magnolia @ Buckley St

3. Magnolia @ Zan St

4. Magnolia @ Goff Ave

5. Magnolia @Peasley St

6. Magnolia @ the entrance of Claflin University

7. Peasley@ Boulevard

 

In addition, traffic will not flow north from Magnolia @Russell.

 

Directions for entering and exiting the campus

 

To enter the campus after 1pm,  please use the rear gate on Goff Ave.

To exit the campus after 1pm, please also use the rear gate. Make a right turn onto Goff Avenue.

Take a left on any side street to get to Magnolia Street.

An officer will direct you to turn right onto Magnolia Street or you may follow Goff Ave. to the Chestnut Street bypass.

 

Lot Closure

Lot 16, located on Goff Avenue, will be closed from 7am to after 11pm
