TO THE CLASS OF 2011

           It is with great pleasure that I greet you on behalf of the entire Claflin University family.  Together we comprise an unbeatable team that, over the next four years, will provide you with opportunities and activities that will enrich your well-being more than any other period in your life.  During your matriculation at this historic place, we expect you to acquire the “Claflin Confidence,” enhance your self-assurance, and build an optimistic spirit.  We also expect that you will be proactive members of the campus community – taking full advantage of all that our university has to offer.

            At Claflin, we are dedicated to providing you with the necessary tools for successful living, and look forward to working with you to ensure your preparedness for the world beyond these walls.  Thus, I challenge you to remain steadfast in your commitment to personal and professional growth, and expect you will be encouraged by the intellectual influence of our dedicated faculty and staff.
