“Dominant Defense”, those are two words to describe the Claflin Lady Panthers volleyball team’s performance Thursday evening against The Morris College Lady Hornets. Every shot coming to Claflin’s side of the net was defended or a diving effort was made to keep the ball in play. Throughout the game hustle, hustle must have been running through the thoughts of these young ladies all night.

Communication also played a vital role in the success of the Pantherettes Thursday night. These young ladies would yell to the top of their lungs to let their fellow teammate know where the ball is at all times. If there were mistakes made on the Lady Panthers side of the net, teammates would give that teammate words of encouragement and play harder the next time.

As you watch these ladies play, you can see the determination, aggressiveness, and the desire to win in all their young ladies eyes. Along with the constant hustling by the defense, the offense of the Pantherettes played just as well. With Sheena Johnson accounting for 32 assists, the Lady Panthers seemed to have the “Claflin Confidence” that they could walk away with the win. In the end, the Pantherettes seemed to be just too much for the Lady Hornets, winning 3 games to 0. The Lady Panthers played like a well oiled machine, with everyone doing their part to contribute to the success of the team.
