Claflin Overpowers Brewton-Parker in Volleyball Action

The Pantherettes of Claflin University displayed determination and all around play to defeat Brewton-Parker College, in four games, 29-31, 30-27, 30-19, 31-29, Saturday afternoon in the Jonas T. Kennedy Center. The win improved the Pantherettes record to 7-10 on the season.

Leading the Pantherette attack were four players who scored double digits in kills. Tashia Stewart lead the charge with 15 kills, Deisha Rivers and Shavonna Andrews both had 13 kills, as Ashley Shells contributed 11 kills.   Toi Haynes-Shelman was outstanding as she finished the game with a game high 30 assists, as her setter mate Sheena Johnson added 15 assists. Joslyn Davis stood out defensively as she tallied 21 digs, as Felicia Corin came up with 17 digs.

The Pantherettes host the Tigers of Voorhees College on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 6:00 pm.
