Claflin Runners Finish Strong

Senior Fred Smith closed out his cross country career with an impressive victory at the USC-Beaufort cross country invitational, held on Saturday. Smith’s time for the 5 mile race (26:06) not only set a new course record, but also set a personal record. Junior Pat McRay also set a personal best of 27:05 to finish in 14^th place. In the women’s race, Lakeya Sanders placed 21^st with a personal best of 23:58. This closes out the cross country season. However the indoor season is just around the corner.  November 30^th Claflin’s thinclads (track and field) will compete at the Clemson University indoor Open, in Clemson SC.
