The Pantherettes held an 8 point lead at the break 31-23. The second half began with both teams trading baskets for the first 11 minutes with Claflin holding on to an 11 point lead 48-37. At this point in the contest the Pantherettes went cold from the field as CAU closed the gap by utilizing their superior size inside to cut the Pantherette lead to just 2 points 54-52 with :59 left to play. With CAU having to foul Latoya Savage went to the line and iced the game making 3-4 free-throws for the final margin of victory. Danielle Walker led all scores with 18 points for CAU. Karla Westmore collected 12 points, and Taneshia Wright added 10 points The Men’s game was a physical battle as both teams played stingy defense, as both teams shot 35% from the floor.
