The Saints of North Georgia College & State University handed the Pantherettes a 79-50 setback in the Jonas T. Kennedy Center, on the campus of Claflin University. Rachel Jolley, Poshia White, and Megan Huffman each with a double-double led the Saints to victory. White led the Saints with 22 points and 11 rebounds, Jolley 21 points and 20 rebounds while Huffman added17 points and 12 rebounds. Brooke Baker contributed 11 points to the winning cause. The Saints shot 43% from the field and 70% from the free-throw line as well as out-rebounded the Pantherettes 60-32. Latoya Savage spearheaded the Pantherettes with 16 points. While Brittney Woods and Shontavia Bladen added 8 points each. The Pantherettes shot 29% from the field and 35% from the free-throw line. The Pantherettes return to action on January 3, 2007 when Johnson C. Smith comes to town for a 6 p.m. start. |
