Mrs. Geneva Williams, who was recently recognized locally for dedicating more than 50 years of service to Claflin University, also obtained national recognition when she received an invitation from the United States Congress to attend the Congressional Gold Medal Award Ceremony in honor of the Tuskegee Airmen. The ceremony takes place today at 1pm in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building.

Claflin University President, Dr. Henry N. Tisdale, said he and the entire Claflin Family are extremely proud of the honor bestowed upon Mrs. Williams, who over the years has steadfastly demonstrated her love and support of the university. Dr. Tisdale added that this is a wonderful opportunity to send good wishes and congratulations to Mrs. Williams letting her know that she is being thought of and applauded on this very special day.
