Enveux co. is a modeling group established on the campus of Claflin University.

Enveux co., a modeling group established on the campus of Claflin University, traveled to New York to experience the culture and history of New York Fashion Week.

“It is an amazing and exciting opportunity for us to be experiencing fashion in another city,” said Charles Hackett, the executive board captain.

NYFW, also known as press week, was created by Eleanor Lambert in July 1943 during World War II as a way to showcase American fashion and talent. NYFW started off small in the Plaza Hotel, full of press invited by Lambert to expose them to the latest designs in fashion.

Fast forward to 2023 and as many would say, “It was only up from there.”

This well-known fashion event has economic impact for New York, bringing in over $880 million in GDP, but it’s not just about the revenue. NYFW is a melting pot of people from all different backgrounds bonding over one common thing, which is fashion.

Claflin/Enveux alumni paid for half of the executive board’s total amount for the trip. The organization plans to make this an annual trip.
