Meet President Warmack

Dr. Dwaun J. Warmack

Dr. Dwaun J. Warmack serves as the ninth president of Claflin University, appointed on August 1, 2019. Since his arrival he has fostered a culture of “Elevation and Transformation” at South Carolina's oldest Historically Black College/University.

Under his stewardship, Claflin has experienced record fundraising, innovative virtual learning environments, accelerated faculty and student research, and dramatic expansion of its campus landscape. In November 2022, Claflin earned Reaffirmation of Accreditation with No Recommendations from SACSCOC.

Warmack holds a B.S. in Education and an M.A. in Sociology from Delta State University, an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Union University, and completed post-doctoral studies at Harvard University. He previously served as president of Harris-Stowe State University.
