Claflin University’s collegiate club A.Bevy held a Purple Matters walk to shed light on the issue of domestic abuse.

The walk began with a meeting at the stoop at SRC South. A.Bevy members read excerpts of stories from real men and women that have been victims of domestic abuse.

The walk started at the stoop and ended at the end of Goff Avenue. At the end of the walk, participants were given purple balloons and released them in honor of those dealing with domestic abuse.

“This was a great event and is something that I feel as though should be talked about more often,” senior Daron Johnson said.

The event was A.Bevy’s second walk against domestic abuse.
