Claflin University proudly celebrates Dr. Monica Greene Robertson for representing the University as a panelist during “Inclusive Pathways to the PhD,” a special program commemorating the 40th anniversary of the MIT Summer Research Program on August 6.

The interactive workshop brought together academic leaders, students, program alumni, and representatives from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) across the Leadership Alliance network. The discussion focused on the important role institutional partnerships play in expanding access to research experiences, graduate education, and research careers.

As a panelist, Greene Robertson contributed to conversations surrounding the development of effective institutional partnerships, strategies for supporting students as they navigate pathways to graduate education, and the impact of collaborative networks such as the Leadership Alliance on strengthening the next generation of researchers.

The program also recognized four decades of the MIT Summer Research Program and the partnerships that have helped students from diverse backgrounds gain meaningful research experiences and pursue advanced degrees.

Greene Robertson’s participation reflects Claflin University’s continued commitment to creating transformative opportunities for students and building partnerships that extend the University’s impact beyond campus. Claflin’s institutional brand emphasizes showcasing the excellence and opportunities that distinguish the University while strengthening meaningful connections with the broader community.

Through opportunities such as this, Claflin continues to elevate its presence within national conversations surrounding research, graduate education, and the development of future scholars.
