Your Idea Can Become a Recognized Organization.

When students do not see their interests represented, OSEL provides a structured process for building a sustainable new organization.

Recognition process

From Idea to Organization.

Follow these steps to prepare a strong organization proposal, then meet with OSEL for the current application, constitution guidance, and training requirements.

1. Review Requirements

Understand expectations for recognition and ongoing organization responsibilities.

2. Identify Interested Students

Build an initial group around a clear purpose and shared need.

3. Secure an Advisor

Identify a Claflin faculty or staff member who can support the organization.

4. Develop a Constitution

Define the organization's purpose, membership, leadership, and operating structure.

6. Meet with OSEL

Review the proposal, responsibilities, and next steps with OSEL staff.
