“I went to Newberry College for a semester then I transferred to Claflin University, he says, revealing the beginning of his journey.

After moving down to South Carolina with his family, attending and graduating from military school and joining the military, James decided that he wanted to enroll in college, starting with Newberry.

As a photographer, James Hall remains drawn to capturing moments that tell a story. After his arrival at Claflin, he quickly realized that photography is his passion and that he wanted to pursue it professionally.

Originally from Memphis, Tenn., James’ journey as a college photographer began when he decided to pick up the camera, and soon enough, he discovered his love for photography. He quickly developed a reputation for his unique style and soon became a sought-after photographer on campus. He soon started filming events on campus such as meltdowns, branching out of school and shooting parties, and building clientele.

As a college photographer, James’ focus has been to document the many events and activities that take place on campus. From student organization events to sporting events and more. James is always there, camera in hand, ready to capture the perfect shot.

What sets James apart from other photographers is being able to bring comfort to his clients and the ability to relate and communicate with them. He has a knack for making people feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera, and his photos capture a sense of authenticity that is hard to find elsewhere.

In addition to his work relating to the college, James also found time to pursue his creative projects. As James approaches graduation, he’s sure he wants to continue pursuing photography. He has already gained valuable experience as a college photographer, and he is eager to continue growing and developing his skills.

A very big accomplishment of his so far is maintaining his brand and growing throughout the years from what it once was to what it is now. Financial freedom and the thought of success have been his strongest influence in life, and with photography, this is something that James gets to experience and enjoy.

Getting hired by Claflin University to film the week of Homecoming 2021 and getting the opportunity to work with a big artist named Mulatto, now known as Latto, happens to be James’ most memorable moment at Claflin. This was a big breakthrough for him in photography as she was one of, if not his biggest clients.

James’ story is a reminder that pursuing a passion can lead to unexpected and fulfilling opportunities. He has already made a name for himself as a talented and passionate photographer.
