Methodology

Survey Design

The survey was designed to capture a representative sample of South Carolina residents who are eligible to vote. Demographic characteristics including age, race, gender, and political affiliation were incorporated to ensure the sample reflected the state's voting population.

Survey questions focused on presidential preferences, the issues most influencing voters, and satisfaction with state and national leadership.

Data Collection

Data were collected between October 5–10, 2024 using the Pollfish online survey platform. Randomized sampling techniques were used to recruit a diverse group of eligible South Carolina voters through mobile devices.

Survey Duration

The survey was designed to be completed in approximately 10–15 minutes. Respondents answered multiple-choice questions, while select items included open-ended responses to provide additional qualitative insight into voter attitudes.

Weighting and Demographics

To better represent South Carolina's voting population, responses were weighted using demographic characteristics including:

• Age
• Gender
• Race and Ethnicity
• Political Affiliation
• Geographic Location (Urban and Rural)

Limitations

While every effort was made to ensure accuracy and representativeness, the following limitations should be considered when interpreting the results:

• Non-response Bias: Some eligible voters may have been less likely to participate due to political interest, internet access, or other personal factors.
• Online Sampling: Because the survey was conducted online, individuals without internet access or mobile devices may be underrepresented, although Pollfish's broad mobile reach helps reduce this limitation.
• Self-Reported Responses: Survey findings reflect respondents' self-reported attitudes and intended behaviors, which may differ from actual voting behavior.
