  • Reviews and advises the research community on matters of new or revised federal and state laws, rules, and regulations that affect research administration.

News and Announcements

New SciENcv Biosketch Is Now Accepted by NSF

Biosketch Update

Effective immediately, the National Science Foundation is designating SciENcv (Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae(link is external)) as an NSF-approved template and is encouraging faculty to use SciENcv to prepare a biographical sketch for inclusion in an NSF proposal. NSF will continue to accept biographical sketches not prepared through use of SciENcv until implementation of the next iteration of the Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG), which is estimated to be implemented in January 2020.

SciENcv is a researcher profile system for all individuals who apply for, receive or are associated with research investments from federal agencies. SciENcv is available (link is external)in My NCBI.

Current and Pending Support Update

The draft 2020 PAPPG will contain new proposed revisions to improve clarity in the Current and Pending Support section. NSF does not consider these clarifications to be changes in policy. Researchers should anticipate implementation of an electronic format (or formats) for submission of information.

The current PAPPG can be found here>>

______________________________________________________________

·         With implementation of the 2020 PAPPG, NSF will only accept PDFs for biographical sketches that are generated through use of an NSF-approved format. A description of NSF-approved format(s) will be posted on the NSF website when the PAPPG is issued.

·         Multiple training resources are available on the SciENcv website. The following website resources may be of assistance to proposers preparing a biographical sketch using the SciENcv format:
