Middle Level Education

The Middle Level Education program prepares visionary educators to be recommended for South Carolina teacher licensure for grades 6-8.

Curriculum

The Middle Level Education program has specific competencies that are expected of candidates preparing to teach in grades 6-8. It meets the standards of the Association for Middle Level Education (AMLE).

Each step you take while enrolled in the School of Education is carefully outlined to guide your career pathways. Upon completion of a degree in Bachelor of Science in Middle Level Education, you will be able to pursue a career as:

  • Middle School Teacher
  • Child Center Director or Coordinator
  • Curriculum Developer (Grades 6-8)
  • Educational Consultant
  • Advocate for a middle level educational organization or professional association
  • Director of Education Services
