Five musicians are scheduled to perform at Claflin's 2023 homecoming, which will take place from Nov. 12 to Nov. 19.

Three of them are present in the school as students. The rapper "Yung Pg" is among them.

To assist in promoting their music, Claflin University is known for letting its students sing during homecoming, and this year it just so happens to be Adrien Jackson.

“I'm really looking forward to performing for the first time and just being able to enjoy myself on the stage and letting people enjoy the songs that I made,” he said. “I just want to make sure the energy is great throughout the whole performance.”

Adrien Jackson, often known as "Yung Pg," is from Winnsboro.

According to the sophomore, he began creating music during his first year in college and the rest is history.

The rapper said, "I've been making music since the summer of 2021, but seriously it's been a year."

As to what inspired him to start making music, he said, “I wouldn’t say I'm inspired to make music because I already enjoy doing it. So like nothing really inspires me to do it.”

Yung Pg lists Future and "mumble rapper" Playboi Carti as his two favorite rappers.

“Future and Carti are the most influential artists I listen to,” he said.

Playboi Carti's music has some similarities to his, but Yung Pg manages to add his own unique spin.

The rapper will release a new project on Halloween, which will be available on streaming services like Spotify, Apple tracks, Soundcloud, YouTube, and Apple Music along with his other music.

Celebrity artists for homecoming are Kash Doll and No Cap. Other Claflin artists are R3tro Riq and DRIP4VRR.
