Program Overview
Claflin University’s Master of Science in Nursing offers two distinct advanced-practice pathways:
Nursing Leadership (36 credit hours) and
Family Nurse Practitioner (47 credit hours).
Coursework is delivered online in an asynchronous format, with clinical components integrated into both tracks.
Students enrolled in the MSN FNP track are required to participate in an
on-campus clinical intensive one week per semester.
All program requirements align with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation standards.
As healthcare systems evolve amid ongoing national nursing shortages, advanced practice nurses continue to be in high demand.
AACN studies show that nurses with graduate-level training experience significantly stronger job placement trends
compared to those with baccalaureate degrees alone.
The MSN program is designed for professional registered nurses seeking to advance into
leadership, administrative, and
advanced clinical practice roles.
The curriculum emphasizes graduate-level scholarship, critical thinking, research integration,
and leadership development across diverse healthcare environments.
