Established in 2004 by the Claflin University Board of Visitors, the FOCUS100 Scholarship Fund has been a major source of support toward helping students fulfill their dreams of graduating from Claflin University. The Board of Visitors has set a fundraising goal of $1 million for the 2018-19 academic year.

The scholarships offer supplemental support for students who experience an unexpected financial crisis, such as a family or health related emergency that may force them to withdraw from school without earning a degree.  FOCUS100 Scholarships have contributed to the marked increase in the retention rate for first-year students during the past decade.

OMASA is a membership organization that provides financial assistance to more than 140 student athletes who represent Claflin in 11 intercollegiate sports and cheerleading.  OMASA provides supplemental funding to support scholarships and operational needs of the program.  Claflin competes at the NCAA Division II level and became an official member of the widely-respected Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) on July 1, 2018.  The Panthers previously were members of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).  Claflin captured the 2018 SIAC Men's Basketball Tournament championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II Tournament  during their final year in the conference.
