Claflin University to Host 10th Annual Cala-Bash

On March 31 through April 7, Claflin University will host its 10thannual CALA-Bash (Claflin's Arts & Letters Annual Bash), an artistic explosion with visual and performing arts, music, food, vendors and more. This annual event is held on the campus of Claflin University.
This year, Claflin University is pleased to announce that Charlamagne Tha God will host a Mental Health and Hip Hop Forum on Wednesday, April 3, at 5:30 p.m., in the W.V. Middleton Fine Arts Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Charlamagne Tha God is best known for being co-host of the nationally syndicated hip-hop iHeartRadio program The Breakfast Club. He is also a social media influencer; an executive producer with his own production company, CThaGod World; and co-host of the popular podcast Brilliant Idiots.
Born and raised in Moncks Corner in S.C., Charlamagne Tha God quickly rose to become one of today’s most unique and compelling media personalities. His point of view and provocative celebrity interviews help drive the daily national conversation about issues related to hip-hop, race, society, and politics. He is the author of the New York Times Best Seller Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It and Shook One: Anxiety Playing Tricks on Me.
Charlamagne Tha God is the executive producer and creator of shows such as On the Run Eatin' with N.O.R.E., In Session Live with Dr. Jess, and Uncommon Sense. He has also been a leading force progressing the mental health discussion in America."
Other highlights for CALA-Bash 2019 include the Claflin University Theatre Ensemble and Music Department's presentation of "Wine in the Wilderness," the Mass Communication Department Film Festival, a poetry slam, the Claflin Fête featuring AE the Cool and much more.
