Claflin University Senior Needs Your Vote in the EBONY STEM Queen Competition

Harris R. Roach, a computer engineering major at Claflin University, is competing to be one of 10 HBCU STEM Queens who will be featured in the February 2022 edition of EBONY magazine. The special feature will highlight brilliant students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs. Harris is a senior from Lithia Springs, Ga.
 
Since 1975, EBONY has celebrated Black collegiate women – poised to make a positive change in the African American community – through the Campus Queens competition. The 10 queens will be selected through an online voting portal. Voting is currently open and ends on October 7. Vote on multiple devices! Click here to vote for Harris.
 
About Harris R. Roach
Harris is the oldest of three children and her parents are both educators (her mom Tammie Harris-Roach, '93, is a former Miss Claflin). She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the Social Technologies and Robotics (STAR) Lab. As a member of the STAR Lab, she has conducted various research projects including Alzheimer’s studies, robot tutoring integrity, and a comparative study involving virtual escape rooms. Harris also works part time as a security analyst intern with Zoom Video Communications. She aspires to be a cybersecurity specialist after graduation.
